About This Role
Develop green and scalable mechanical/chemical polymer upcycling technologies, especially for polyurethane. This role involves R&D from lab to pilot scale in a dynamic materials science environment at NTU.
Responsibilities
- Develop green and scalable polymer upcycling technologies (polyurethane focus).
- Conduct R&D on pre-treatment and upcycling via lab/pilot scale experiments.
- Characterize samples, analyze data, and document findings.
- Collaborate with industry/academia to advance technologies.
- Prepare technical reports, IP documents, and academic publications.
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- 6-8 years graduate/working experience in polymer science/green tech R&D.
- Proficiency in characterization techniques (TGA, DSC, FTIR, DMA, rheology, etc.).
- Leadership in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience with academic/pilot operation proposals.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Good wet lab practice and safety awareness.
- Passion for plastic upcycling/environmental issues.
