Senior Research Fellow (Polymer Upcycling)

About This Role

Develop green and scalable mechanical/chemical polymer upcycling technologies, especially for polyurethane. This role involves R&D from lab to pilot scale in a dynamic materials science environment at NTU.

Responsibilities

• Develop green and scalable polymer upcycling technologies (polyurethane focus).
• Conduct R&D on pre-treatment and upcycling via lab/pilot scale experiments.
• Characterize samples, analyze data, and document findings.
• Collaborate with industry/academia to advance technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, IP documents, and academic publications.

Requirements

• PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
• 6-8 years graduate/working experience in polymer science/green tech R&D.
• Proficiency in characterization techniques (TGA, DSC, FTIR, DMA, rheology, etc.).
• Leadership in multi-disciplinary projects.
• Experience with academic/pilot operation proposals.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good wet lab practice and safety awareness.
• Passion for plastic upcycling/environmental issues.
