About This Role
Join NTU's Sia Lab to advance next-gen integrated photonic devices for laser, RF, LiDAR, and quantum sensing. This role involves design, fabrication, and characterization of hybrid photonic systems.
Responsibilities
- Design/simulate integrated photonic devices on Si, TFLN, $\text{Si}_3\text{N}_4$, and III-V/Si platforms.
- Fabricate and characterize hybrid III-V/TFLN and III-V/$\text{Si}_3\text{N}_4$ semiconductor lasers.
- Build and operate optical/RF measurement setups for device characterization (linewidth, noise, etc.).
- Publish first-author papers and present at leading photonics conferences.
- Lead end-to-end system demonstrations in coherent FMCW LiDAR and quantum sensing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant integrated photonics research experience.
- Familiarity with photonic design tools (Lumerical, Ansys, etc.) and GDSII layout.
- Strong communication skills evidenced by publications/presentations.
- Proficiency in optical/microwave measurement techniques (lasers, OSAs, VNAs).
- Competence in Python or MATLAB for data analysis and scripting.
- Ability to work independently against tight milestones.
- Preferred: Experience with photonic packaging or FMCW LiDAR systems.
