About This Role
The Aumovio-NTU Corporate Laboratory Centre is seeking a Research Associate to investigate adhesive bonding and debonding of hybrid joints, including modifying adhesives with trigger chemicals, fabricating hybrid joints for testing, and developing instrumentation. The candidate must possess a materials science or mecha
Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations on the bonding and debonding of adhesively bonded hybrid joints with modified adhesives via down-selected process route.
- Deeply modify adhesives with suitable trigger chemicals and investigate the hysteresis heating response under external stimuli.
- Fabricate hybrid joints with modified adhesives for joining and investigate the debonding response.
- Develop necessary test matrices to do comprehensive parametric studies on hybrid joints.
- Develop instrumentation and fixtures for the automation of bonding tests.
- Apply advanced finite element or machine learning tools for process optimisation.
Requirements
- MSc or MTech or MEng in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering with a background in Polymer chemistry, adhesive bonded joints failure analysis, material design, or mechanical testin
- One or two years of research experience in academic or industrial settings is preferred.
- Good team player, project management skills, and positive attitude are required.
- Hands-on experience in handling polymers, adhesive bonding technology, and mechanical testing is essential.
- Experience with machine or mechanisms design and mechanical testing is preferred.
