Research Associate (Material Science / Civil Engineering / Chemical Engineering)

About This Role

Seeking a Research Associate to lead the development of carbon-enhanced concrete materials, including testing and cost-benefit analysis for large-scale applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead new carbon materials enhanced concrete development via secure storage and property enhancement.
• Conduct comprehensive testing of advanced concrete materials developed by the candidate.
• Perform cost-benefit and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyses on new materials.
• Conduct research on carbon material enhanced concretes with various forms of carbon for demonstration in suitable applications.
• Collaborate closely with the project's PI group on topics like self-healing and sustainable cementless materials.
• Ensure the developed materials are demonstrated in suitable large-scale applications.

Requirements

• Graduate with a Master Degree from a reputable university in material science, civil engineering, or related fields.
• Have relevant research experience and strong journal publication record.
• Possess experimental skills in nano/microstructural material tailoring, novel sustainable concrete development, and mechanical testing.
• Demonstrate familiarity with carbon material enhanced concrete/geopolymer materials.
• Have hands-on experience as well as solid theoretical background and excellent paper/report writing skills.
