About This Role
Seeking a PhD candidate for a Research Fellow position at NTU's School of Materials Science and Engineering to lead the development of photopolymers and biomaterials using X-ray microtomography.
Responsibilities
- Operate nano-computed tomography (nano-CT) systems for high-resolution 3D imaging.
- Prepare, mount, and align samples for CT scanning to optimize scan parameters.
- Perform system calibrations, routine checks, and troubleshoot operational issues during imaging.
- Reconstruct CT scan datasets using reconstruction software for quantitative analysis.
- Extract measurements such as porosity, defects, and internal structure from 3D datasets.
- Generate technical reports, figures, and summaries of results.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Imaging Science.
- Basic understanding of X-ray imaging and tomography principles.
- Experience with CT reconstruction or analysis software (e.g., Dragonfly, Avizo).
- Experience with scientific data analysis and image processing tools.
- Strong attention to detail and data management skills.
