Manager, Student Management System (Business Analysis)

About This Role

The Student Management Systems (SMS) team is seeking a Business Analyst to support the rollout of a Next-Generation Student Management System, focusing on stakeholder engagement, system implementation, governance, and continuous improvement across interconnected academic platforms.

Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders to gather and validate business requirements into functional specifications.
• Support the sourcing, evaluation, and implementation of system solutions to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Provide business analysis support across system modules and digital platforms that interface with the Student Management System.
• Support delivery planning activities by contributing to work plans, milestones, and dependency tracking in collaboration with project managers.
• Establish cross-system standards, documentation, and governance practices to support consistent system use across multiple student systems.
• Assess change requests with consideration for cross-system impacts, dependencies, and data consistency to support implementation and adoption of new functionalities.

Requirements

• A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience (typically 6–10 years) in business analysis or enterprise system implementation roles.
• Experience working with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear functional specifications and documentation.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in or with Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs), education-related organisations, or government-linked environments.
• Experience in supporting system adoption, change management, or audit readiness.
