Research Associate/Fellow (Optical Fiber Fabrication)

About This Role

Seeking a Research Associate/Fellow to design, fabricate, and characterize specialty optical fibers for high-power laser applications at NTU's fiber fabrication facility.

Responsibilities

• Design and fabricate specialty optical fibers in the fiber fabrication facility
• Characterize drawn optical fibers and maintain a proper catalogue
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues in the fiber fabrication facility
• Manage procurement of assets and consumables
• Provide ad hoc administrative support as required

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
• Experience in optical fiber fabrication
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
