About This Role

Seeking a PhD candidate in Materials Science, Polymer Science, or related fields to lead research on soft functional materials including polymeric and supramolecular systems for analyte transport, interfacial adhesion, and responsive self-healing applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, synthesize, and characterize soft functional materials such as hydrogels and elastomers.
  • Develop material systems for regulating solvation, diffusion, and adhesion behaviors of solid-state analytes.
  • Investigate structure-property relationships governing analyte transport, surface interaction, and mechanical performance in soft systems.
  • Design and optimize responsive, self-healing, and reconfigurable materials for interface-related applications.
  • Conduct comprehensive characterization using chemical, physical, and mechanical techniques on materials and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers to integrate advanced materials into sensing, analytical, or soft device platforms.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated research experience in polymeric materials, supramolecular materials, hydrogels, or related areas.
  • Strong background in material synthesis and structural design of functional soft material systems.
  • Experience in supramolecular chemistry, responsive materials, self-healing materials, or interfacial engineering.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and structural characterization methods for soft materials and interfaces.
  • Strong publication record in reputable journals with the ability to independently drive research tasks.
