Research Assistant (Ingestible Robotics for IBD)

About This Role

Seeking a Research Assistant to design, fabricate, and validate ingestible robotic systems for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) diagnostics and therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and fabricate ingestible robotic capsule systems
• Conduct in-vitro and ex-vivo experiments in simulated GI environments
• Develop and integrate biocompatible sensing modules for IBD biomarker detection
• Test targeted drug delivery mechanisms
• Perform data analysis and contribute to research publications

Requirements

• Bachelor's in electrical and Electronic Engineering, computer engineering, or related field
• Expertise in embedded system and FPGA
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages
• Knowledge of interfacing circuit design for low power sensing and wireless communication
• Familiarity with micro-fabrication techniques, rapid prototyping (e.g., 3D printing), or cleanroom processes
• Experience in experimental design and laboratory work, particularly in robotics, MEMS, or biomedical devices
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
