Research Associate (Object Detection)

About This Role

Seeking a Master's degree holder in Computer Science or Engineering with expertise in data-efficient object detection, transfer learning, and machine learning to lead a research project at NTU.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct data-efficient object detection research using techniques like few-shot learning and transfer learning.
• Produce research reports, publications, or patents as required by funding bodies and for academic dissemination.
• Provide guidance and support to students associated with the research project.
• Attend, contribute, or lead relevant meetings and other duties related to the research programme.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics Engineering.
• Strong background in machine learning and computer vision with experience in data-efficient classification, synthesis, or detection.
• Proficient coding skills in scientific software such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Proven research ability evidenced by a portfolio of publications and/or conference papers or patents.
• Strong background in R&D with self-motivation, initiative, and understanding of industrial needs.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in experimental design, modelling methods, prototype engineering, and laboratory work.
• Collaborative and supervisory capabilities including assisting in postgraduate supervision, initiating collaborations, or overseeing project progress.
