About This Role
Seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to lead greenhouse and experiment management for an AI-driven urban farming project funded by the NRF, requiring experience in agritech equipment procurement, scheduling, and multi-party coordination.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate seedling process with industry collaborators
- Manage manpower crew for transplanting and harvesting system calibration
- Administrate experiment software for dynamic irrigation/fertigation
- Monitor active experiments and manage physical system operations per weather conditions
- Coordinate vendor solutions for pot, remote sensing systems, and tank refilling
- Provide hardware support including procurement of experiment devices and sensors
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or relevant field
- 3 years of experience preferred, with 2+ years in agritechnology fields
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse, international research environment
- Experience in plant phenotyping, IoT/electrical engineering, or hands-on project management methodologies
- Ability to work with multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Good team player willing to work independently with minimum supervision
