About This Role
Seeking four highly motivated Research Fellows to lead research on market design, coordination, and decision-support frameworks for future low-carbon power systems at NTU.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research on future low-carbon power systems and electricity markets.
- Develop analytical, optimisation, simulation, and data-driven models for power system operation under high renewable penetration.
- Design market mechanisms for energy storage, distributed energy resources, and demand-side flexibility integration.
- Develop AI-enabled computational methods for power system planning, operational decision-making, and market simulation.
- Perform modelling, simulation, and quantitative analysis of integrated energy systems and electricity market operations.
Requirements
- PhD qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or Information Engineering.
- Strong research background in electricity market design, power system operation/planning, energy storage, smart grids, or reinforcement learning.
- Experience in analytical modelling, optimisation, simulation, machine learning, or data-driven methods for power systems and markets.
- Familiarity with electricity markets, renewable energy integration, low-carbon systems, and future power system challenges.
- Experience with programming tools such as Python, Jax, or related simulation platforms.
- Publication record in high-quality journals or conferences related to power systems, markets, or reinforcement learning.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with self-motivation for interdisciplinary work.
- Ability to manage multiple research tasks and meet project timelines.
