Research Assistant (Power Grids and Markets)

About This Role

Seeking a Research Assistant to support offshore wind farm simulation and AI-based control using reinforcement learning at NTU EEE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on AI-enabled renewable energy systems and offshore wind farm simulation.
• Develop reinforcement learning algorithms for control optimization in power grids.
• Build and maintain digital twin platforms for renewable energy systems.
• Perform data analysis, numerical experiments, and model validation.
• Support research activities within Assistant Professor Dawei Qiu's group.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with PyTorch.
• Experience in software development, reinforcement learning, simulation, or data analysis is advantageous.
• Familiarity with offshore wind farm simulators is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
