About This Role
Seeking a Research Associate to lead the development and testing of carbon-enhanced concrete materials at NTU, focusing on geopolymer-based solutions for sustainable construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new carbon materials enhanced concrete via incorporation of various carbon sources.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of all advanced concrete materials developed for the project.
- Perform cost-benefit and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyses on the proposed materials.
- Conduct research on carbon material enhanced concretes with different forms of carbon for large-scale demonstration.
- Collaborate with the PI group on topics such as self-healing, sustainable cementless materials, and 3D printable concrete.
- Conduct mechanical testing, thermal conductivity analysis, and chemical micro-structural characterization.
Requirements
- Master's degree in material science, civil engineering, or related fields with relevant research experience.
- Strong journal publication record and/or IP generation history.
- Extensive knowledge of carbon material enhanced concrete/geopolymer materials.
- Experience with nano/microstructural material tailoring, novel sustainable concrete development, and mechanical testing.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques including thermal/electrical conductivity testing, chemical analysis, and paper/report writing.
- Solid theoretical background in geopolymer chemistry and structural applications.
