About This Role
Seeking a PhD researcher for an active commuting and health communication project at NTU, focusing on quantifying walking/cycling benefits through mixed-methods research.
Responsibilities
- Design and validate research instruments including surveys, focus groups, and experimental stimuli.
- Lead the preparation of ethics applications (IRB) and ensure compliance with research governance requirements.
- Contribute to the conceptualization, design, and implementation of mixed-methods studies across quantitative and qualitative components.
- Develop participant recruitment strategies and oversee data collection activities for large-scale datasets.
- Manage statistical analysis using R, Stata, Python, or SPSS to evaluate impact and wellbeing assessments.
- Ensure rigorous data quality through cleaning, coding, documentation, and reproducibility practices.
Requirements
- PhD in behavioural science, transport studies, psychology, public health, economics, or data science.
- Strong expertise in quantitative research methods and mixed-methods design.
- Experience with large-scale survey, mobility, or wearable-device datasets is advantageous.
- Prior experience in transport, active mobility, public health, or wellbeing research is highly advantageous.
- Experience preparing research protocols and ethics documentation is essential.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Stata, Python, or SPSS is required.
- Demonstrated track record of academic writing including peer-reviewed publications and technical reports.
