About This Role
Seeking a PhD researcher to lead research on marine heatwaves, ocean-atmosphere interactions, and extreme heat attribution using advanced modelling frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply advanced modelling and analytical frameworks to investigate marine heatwaves, ocean-atmosphere interactions, and extreme heat attribution.
- Analyze large-scale climate, oceanic, and environmental datasets to understand the drivers, mechanisms, and variability of extreme heat events.
- Contribute to technical reports, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
- Support collaborative research activities with internal and external partners, including project coordination and scientific communication.
- Assist in related grant, project, and lab activities, including mentoring students and contributing to the broader research agenda of the team.
Requirements
- PhD degree in climate sciences, environmental sciences and oceanography or related field
- Familiarity with extreme event forecasting and projection
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Python, R or other programming languages
