About This Role
Seeking a PhD/M.D. candidate for an in vivo spinal cord injury research fellowship at NTU, focusing on neural tissue engineering and microsurgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct in vivo experiments using rat SCI models.
- Conduct microsurgical procedures, cell/scaffold implantation, and animal behavioral evaluations.
- Carry out analyses to understand mechanisms of action via tract tracing, immunofluorescence, and confocal imaging.
- Conduct data analysis, manuscript preparation, and supervise junior researchers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary collaborations within NTU.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or related discipline.
- Published expertise in handling rodents and functional assessments.
- Experience with animal surgery, preferably SCI microsurgery in rodents.
- Hands-on experience with tract tracing, tissue sectioning, immunofluorescence, histology, and confocal microscopy.
- Experience with western blotting and qRT-PCR is advantageous.
