Research Associate (Quantum Communication Security)

About This Role

We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Fraunhofer Singapore Research Centre FSR as part of the QUASAR-CREATE programme, focusing on post-quantum cryptographic migration and agility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on post-quantum cryptographic migration and security.
• Design, implement, and evaluate tools for secure system transition to quantum-safe cryptography.
• Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and migration frameworks for complex infrastructures.
• Contribute to design and implementation of migration analysis platforms.
• Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with researchers at the Centre to translate research into practical tools.

Requirements

• MSc/MEng in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong foundation in applied cryptography and secure system design.
• Understanding of post-quantum cryptography concepts is required.
• Experience in cryptographic migration, secure software development, or security of complex distributed systems is preferred.
• Experience with programming in Python, C/C++, Rust, or Go is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and under strict timelines.
