Sr. Technical Program Manager, AWS Rack Manufacturing

About This Role

The Sr. Technical Program Manager is seeking to lead AWS manufacturing operations by translating capacity plans into factory layouts, automating material flow, and managing phased construction for EC2, ML, and Storage rack fulfillment sites.

Responsibilities

• Translate rack fulfillment capacity plans into data-driven facility layouts for AWS manufacturing operations.
• Design factory floor layouts including automation line stations, manual assembly zones, and test positions based on cycle time analysis.
• Develop industrial simulation models to identify bottlenecks and optimize material flow paths for throughput and buffer occupancy.
• Coordinate utility infrastructure requirements (power, cooling) with facilities teams to ensure alignment with layout phasing.
• Manage phased layout plans aligned with construction milestones, including change control and visual documentation standards.
• Drive continuous improvement by partnering with Operations and Automation Engineering teams to reduce cycle time and enable rapid capacity deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams with multi-million dollar business reporting to senior leadership.
• Excellent communicator with an ability to concisely convey information to executives and cross-functional teams.
• Needs to be an evangelist for teaching Automation to the organization.
