About This Role

Amazon is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to lead BMS and EPMS design standards, coordinate global construction projects, and drive cost reductions in AWS Data Center Global Services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global BMS/EPMS design standards, specifications, and Basis of Design documents.
• Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding controls standards across new construction, legacy sites, and support projects.
• Drive innovation to minimize change orders and optimize vendor pricing while reducing construction schedule delays.
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and project managers to review SOWs and finalize initiatives.
• Lead vendor selection processes for electrical meters, devices, and control systems to ensure compliance with AWS standards.
• Interact with cloud services and applications to analyze accumulated control system data for risk identification and mitigation.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of building operations, mechanical plant strategies, BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, and electrical power monitoring.
• Strong leadership skills to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project success.
• Experience in high-security, mission-critical environments with a focus on safety and productivity.
• Ability to interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings for design standards.
• Proven track record in solving problems autonomously to resolve unexpected challenges and drive results.
• Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously with a strong customer focus.
