Staff Mechanical Engineer, Debug

About This Role

Google is recruiting a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of automated Debug technology and products, focusing on designing electromechanical systems with 8 years of experience in electro-mechanical and pneumatic fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated systems with electromechanical components including servo, pneumatics, sensors, and drive components.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from requirements definition to final production launch.
• Act as a primary technical point-of-contact to resolve engineering issues requiring creative solutions.
• Design and iterate collaboratively with real-world users and use cases to improve product performance.
• Test prototypes and released products to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Investigate and resolve technical problems involving product performance in production equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience designing and testing electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and fluid systems.
• Experience using prototyping tools and techniques.
• Experience designing industrial or lab automated systems.
• Experience with modeling CAD software such as SolidWorks.
