Software Engineering Manager, Open Source Security

About This Role

Lead a team dedicated to securing the global open-source supply chain at Google in Singapore. This role drives security from an afterthought to a core development guideline through technical leadership and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a team of software engineers, fostering culture and psychological safety.
• Support career development and coach team members effectively.
• Lead project planning, execution, and service operations success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (PM, UX, TPM) for optimal solutions.
• Design, guide, and vet system designs within the security domain.
• Develop code to solve complex technical problems and respond to AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years in people management or team leadership.
• 5+ years in people management (Preferred).
• 3 years in a complex, matrixed organization (Preferred).
• Experience with 2+ of: open source, security software, vulnerability assessment, internet infrastructure, distributed systems, networking (Preferred).
• Ability to present complex technical concepts (Preferred).
