Research Officer position in Chemical biology laboratory

The YUcleic Lab is a Chemical Biology lab dedicated to study cellular nucleic acids. We integrate functional genomics, chemical biology, and molecular pharmacology to advance RNA- and DNA-targeted drug discovery.

This is full-time on-site Research Officer position, who will engage in lab management role (20% time) and conducting scientific research (80% time). 

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated strong sense of responsibility and organization in daily laboratory management
  • Maintain lab operations, including reagent preparation, consumable ordering, budget tracking, and equipment maintenance.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in wet lab techniques, including Western blotting, qPCR, plasmid cloning, and cellular assay
  • Develop and optimize cellular assays to evaluate the efficacy of RNA-targeting strategies in cells.
  • Assist in designing and conducting experiments related to CRISPR, small-molecule screening, and ASO development.
  • Engage in literature reviews, research discussions, and collaborative projects.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Biology, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive, eager-to-learn attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
