Lead Research Engineer II, Smart Virtual Systems

About This Role

Drive the design and implementation of enterprise-scale agentic AI systems for industrial applications at A*STAR. This role shapes technical strategy and leads the delivery of production-grade AI solutions using LLMs and autonomous agents.

Responsibilities

• Architect enterprise-scale agentic AI systems and platforms.
• Design AI orchestration workflows involving LLMs, tools, agents, and integrations.
• Define scalable, secure system architectures and engineering practices.
• Translate operational needs into AI-enabled solutions with stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging technologies in agentic and enterprise AI systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong experience in software architecture/backend systems.
• Experience designing scalable cloud-native or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI application architectures.
• Interest/experience in agentic AI or multi-agent applications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
