About This Role
A*STAR seeks a Senior Scientist to lead the design and simulation of next-generation metasurface-based optical sensing devices, applying advanced electromagnetic modeling to nanophotonic platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and simulate metasurface structures for optical sensing applications.
- Optimize device performance using numerical simulation tools (FDTD, FEM, RCWA).
- Analyze results based on nanophotonics and optical physics principles.
- Support experimental efforts, including optical and electrical characterization.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams for design-to-experiment alignment.
- Contribute to technical publications and intellectual property.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics, EE, Photonics, or related field.
- Strong foundation in optical physics and nanophotonics.
- Proven experience in metasurface design and simulation.
- Familiarity with optical sensing devices and performance metrics.
- Proficiency with simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical FDTD, COMSOL).
- Ability to translate concepts into practical device designs.
