About This Role

Responsibilities
- Define optical concepts for semiconductor metrology from requirements to delivery.
- Drive development of novel high-resolution optical systems.
- Formulate research directions and competitive funding proposals.
- Translate industry manufacturing challenges into optics-based research.
- Collaborate with partners to deliver proof-of-concept systems.
- Mentor teams and contribute to capability growth.
Requirements
- PhD in Optics, Physics, or related field.
- 10+ years' R&D leadership experience in relevant areas (e.g., semiconductor inspection).
- Strong fundamentals in optical system design and laser technologies.
- Proven ability to secure significant research funding.
- Demonstrated skill in translating complex problems into optical solutions.
- Strong publication record and/or patents.
- Experience with industry partners delivering applied R&D outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and management levels.
