About This Role
Seeking a PhD candidate in Materials Science or Engineering to lead research on oxide thin films for photonics using sputtering and PLD techniques, focusing on structural characterization via AFM/XRD/SEM.
Responsibilities
- Growth of oxide thin films on Si wafers via physical vapor deposition.
- Structural characterization using atomic force microscopy, high-resolution X-ray diffraction, and electron microscopy.
- Collaboration with theory teams to understand film growth mechanisms.
- Design, nanofabrication, and testing of photonic devices.
- Publishing experimental findings in peer-reviewed journals and filing patent applications.
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
- Strong skills in data analysis with preferred experience in photonic devices.
- Experience in oxide thin film deposition by sputtering, PLD, or MBE.
- Solid understanding of film growth mechanisms and rich experience in structural characterization techniques.
