About This Role
Seeking a qualified Scientist (HWP Lab) at A*STAR's IMCB to work on metabolic health projects, conducting in vitro and wet lab experiments including cell culture, RNA/protein analysis, animal husbandry, and end-point sampling.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in vitro and wet lab experiments such as cell culture, molecular biology assays (RT-qPCR, Western blotting), and microscopy.
- Perform routine animal husbandry, colony management, genotyping, and tracking of cohorts for therapeutic development.
- Execute in vivo handling experiments including diet/treatment dosing, body weight analyses, and metabolic phenotyping.
- Conduct end-point experiments involving blood sampling, tissue collection, perfusion, and imaging.
- Analyze experimental data, maintain accurate monitoring of protocols, results, and research findings.
- Communicate with the PI, collaborators, and lab team regarding scientific progress, grant applications, reports, and publications.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Life Science, Biomedical Science or related field with solid publication/preprint record.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in laboratory and animal work.
- Bonus/Advantageous: Prior technical competency in metabolic profiling or end-point sampling and tissue collection.
- Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with a rigorous approach to experimental controls.
- Excellent collaborative mindset with ability to multitask across multiple project streams and work both in teams and independently.
- Highly motivated and willing to learn.
