About This Role

A*STAR Research Officer in the Spatial RNA Biology & Technology lab at GIS, Singapore. The role involves developing computational pipelines for high-dimensional spatial imaging data using Python and R, integrating image processing with single-cell analysis tools like Scanpy and Seurat to study RNA dynamics in early dev

Responsibilities

  • Developing and optimizing image-processing workflows for high-multiplexed in situ sequencing data.
  • Building downstream analysis workflows for spatial gene expression and RNA translational efficiency analysis.
  • Developing mathematical modeling frameworks for RNA kinetics and multimodal integration of imaging data.
  • Troubleshooting wet-lab experiments, evaluating data quality, and translating microscopy images into biologically interpretable datasets.
  • Collaborating with wet-lab scientists to troubleshoot experiments and improve computational performance.
  • Building robust analytical frameworks for single-cell and subcellular spatial RNA analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Chemical Biology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience of programming in Python and R with AI tools.
  • Experience with image processing, microscopy analysis, or spatial omics data analysis.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools such as Scanpy, Seurat, or Squidpy.
  • Comfortable working with large imaging datasets and high-performance computing environments.
  • Interest in spatial genomics, computational pipeline building, and RNA kinetics modeling.
