About This Role
A*STAR Director, Bioeconomy Innovation Office is responsible for leading the national R&D roadmap for bioeconomy in Singapore, managing project origination and grant administration to drive commercialization through technology transfer partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Develop national R&D roadmap and set research priorities for bioeconomy innovation.
- Curate and manage R&D projects in line with FI focus, ensuring timely delivery.
- Administer grant funding for industry-relevant projects and manage the FI review process.
- Move research outputs toward commercialization via technology transfer partnerships.
- Engage stakeholders across the value chain to build and maintain the bio-economy R&D community.
- Collaborate with sector leads and ecosystem partners to shape timely, high-impact solutions.
Requirements
- Advanced degree or significant work experience in industrial biotechnology and chemical sector.
- >10 years of relevant experience with industry expertise.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and collaborate closely with Singapore's R&D ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Singapore's R&D community and experience in multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in managing research projects, grant administration, and technology transfer.
