About This Role

A*STAR Scientist for the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine requires a Civil, Mechanical or Marine Engineering degree with experience in offshore engineering, hydrodynamics, and numerical methods like SolidWorks/WAMIT/Python.

Responsibilities

• Perform research in global performance analysis and coupled wind-wave simulations.
• Assist in conducting physical model tests, field experiments, and numerical simulations for integrated modeling.
• Collaborate with industry partners to contribute to grant proposals consistent with TCOMS strategic goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Relevant research/industry experience in offshore engineering, marine engineering, hydrodynamics, and naval architecture.
• Competent knowledge in CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD), engineering tools (WAMIT, SESAM, OrcaFlex), and programming languages (FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, C++).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively as a team member.
• Good command of written and spoken English language.
• Resourceful, self-driven professional with high integrity.
