Senior Research Engineer I , Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine, Singapore

About This Role

A*STAR Senior Research Engineer I seeks a Civil, Mechanical or Marine Engineering degree holder with offshore and marine engineering experience to conduct global performance analysis, structural response analysis, physical model tests, and numerical simulations for the Technology Centre for Offshore & Marine.

Responsibilities

• Perform research in global performance analysis and structural response analysis.
• Assist in conducting physical model tests, field experiments, and numerical simulations for integrated modeling.
• Collaborate with industry partners to contribute grant proposals consistent with TCOMS strategic goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Relevant research/industry experience in offshore engineering, marine engineering, hydrodynamics, naval architecture and ocean engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD), WAMIT, SESAM, OrcaFlex, and Finite Element analysis tools (SESAM, ABAQUS, Ansys).
• Programming skills in FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, C++ or equivalent.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills.
