About This Role

A*STAR Senior Research Engineer II is seeking a highly skilled Ocean and Coastal Engineering expert to lead high-resolution coastal and ocean circulation models using DELFT3D-FM/MIKE, NEMO, and data-driven methodologies for metocean forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of high-resolution coastal and ocean circulation models using DELFT3D-FM/MIKE and NEMO.
• Implement data assimilation, Bayesian networks, and machine learning techniques for metocean forecasting.
• Manage project tasks, deliverables, and timelines within agreed parameters.
• Monitor project progress and analyze success of short-term goals.
• Present at conferences to maintain proficiency in research methodologies.
• Work effectively as a member of a vibrant research team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Ocean/Coastal Engineering, Hydraulic, Environmental, or Mechanical with Fluid Dynamics/Mechanics majoring), OR other related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of oceanography, coastal hydrodynamics, and open-source models (DELFT3D-FM, NEMO).
• Experience in sensing and data analytics is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in machine learning and Bayesian networks.
