About This Role

A*STAR Senior Research Engineer II is seeking a highly skilled Ocean and Coastal Engineering expert to lead high-resolution coastal models (DELFT3D-FM/MIKE) and ocean circulation forecasting using NEMO, with a focus on data assimilation, Bayesian networks, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of high-resolution coastal models using DELFT3D-FM/MIKE.
• Develop ocean circulation models for regional waters using NEMO.
• Implement data assimilation, data-driven modeling, and Bayesian network techniques for metocean forecasting.
• Manage project tasks to ensure on-time, within-scope delivery and budget adherence.
• Create detailed project plans for monitoring progress and performance analysis.
• Present work at conferences and maintain proficiency in technical training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Ocean/Coastal Engineering, Hydraulic, Environmental, or Mechanical) with a focus on Fluid Dynamics or Mechanics.
• Experience in oceanography and coastal hydrodynamics is preferred.
• Proficiency with open-source models like DELFT3D-FM and NEMO.
• Knowledge in sensing, data analytics, and machine learning is advantageous.
