About This Role

A*STAR seeks a Senior Scientist I in the Technology Centre for Offshore & Marine to lead ocean and coastal modelling projects using DELFT3D-FM, NEMO, and machine learning tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of high-resolution coastal and ocean circulation models using DELFT3D-FM and NEMO.
• Implement data assimilation, Bayesian networks, and machine learning techniques for metocean forecasting.
• Manage project tasks to ensure on-time, within-scope delivery of deliverables and plans.
• Conduct leadership reviews to ensure team satisfaction and generate new opportunities for TCOMS.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, documentations, and proposals for grants/projects.
• Assist in defining project scope and objectives to ensure technical feasibility.

Requirements

• PhD in Oceanography, Ocean Engineering, Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
• Working knowledge of oceanography and hydrodynamics.
• Experience with DELFT3D-FM, NEMO, and other open-source ocean models.
• Knowledge in sensing, data analytics, and machine learning.
