About This Role

A*STAR Senior Research Engineer I requires a B.E/B.Tech in Electronics/Instrumentation with 2-4 years experience, specifically Proficient in LabVIEW and NI hardware/software integration for ocean basin model testing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute ocean basin model testing projects.
• Design and develop LabVIEW-based data acquisition and control systems for hydrodynamic testing.
• Develop software architecture, upgrade existing systems to new protocols, and troubleshoot control issues.
• Select appropriate sensors for wave/current/motion measurements and integrate them with control systems.
• Create documentation including SOPs, user manuals, and design changes for test setups.
• Upgrade LabVIEW applications to meet latest testing requirements and validate software before deployment.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Computer Science.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in LabVIEW development and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with NI hardware (PXI, cRIO, CompactDAQ) and communication protocols (TCP/IP, CAN, EtherCAT).
• Proficiency in Windows and Real-Time Linux environments for LabVIEW applications.
• Strong team player with experience interfacing induction motors and VFDs for testing environments.
• Excellent documentation skills to capture test requirements and write user manuals.
