Job Description and Requirements

Dr Caroline Wee’s Lab (IMCB A*STAR) is looking for a bioinformatician to be employed at the level of a research officer.  He/she will contribute to a multi-omics integration project encompassing metagenomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data alongside health and behavioral data, with the goal of investigating microbiome-host interactions underlying cardiometabolic and brain health. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of basic biologists, bioinformaticians and clinicians, and contribute towards the development of novel data integration strategies and identification of potential therapeutics to improve human health and well-being.

Job Requirements:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Bioinformatics or a related discipline (e.g. Statistics, Data Science,  Mathematics or Computational Biology) with relevant experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Proficiency in R (preferred) and/or Python
• Strong foundation in data analysis and statistical methods

• Experience with analysing genomics and/or other omics datasets preferred

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and is comfortable with exploring large datasets.

• Highly motivated and able to work independently while also contributing effectively with a team-oriented environment. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
