About This Role
As a Buyer III, you will manage strategic supplier relationships and drive procurement initiatives to ensure reliable supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive procurement initiatives to optimize material availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and negotiate for on-time delivery of critical materials.
- Apply analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions while maintaining high quality standards.
- Implement continuous improvement projects, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs.
- Track performance metrics for suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials essential to manufacturing operations.
- Conduct supplier audits and business reviews to maintain regulatory compliance with FDA, ISO, and cGMP requirements.
Requirements
- Advanced degree plus 3 years of experience in procurement/supply chain, preferably in life sciences or regulated industry.
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, with a preference for supply chain management or business administration.
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications such as APICS, CSCP, CIPS, or CPM.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems like SAP, JD Edwards, and Oracle.
- Strong negotiation abilities and demonstrated success in delivering cost savings.
- Experience with supplier relationship management, performance metrics tracking, and audit processes.
- Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and cGMP regulatory requirements in procurement.
