About This Role
Applied Materials seeks a Customer Engineer in Singapore to serve as a direct liaison, installing, maintaining, and upgrading advanced equipment for customers. This role involves hands-on technical support to ensure optimal system performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on complex systems (electrical, vacuum, mechanical, etc.).
- Respond to fab issues by collaborating with engineers and participating in escalation calls.
- Perform standard service activities (Tier I unassisted, Tier II with assistance).
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems using diagnostic techniques and documentation.
- Maintain quality repairs and follow all established checklists and procedures.
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction within the assigned work area.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 lbs. and working in tight spaces.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in clean room environments using appropriate PPE.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address recurring technical issues.
