About This Role
Applied Materials seeks a Chemist/Process Engineer in Singapore to drive materials and thin-film process development for next-gen semiconductor technologies. This role involves hands-on experimentation and optimization of advanced deposition processes.
Responsibilities
- Devise precursor and deposition strategies for thin films.
- Design, execute, and optimize CVD-, ALD-, and PVD-based deposition processes.
- Perform thin-film growth experiments and support material development/characterization.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and process data.
- Prepare project deliverables from planning through implementation.
- Troubleshoot root causes of development obstacles.
Requirements
- Doctor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics.
- Foundational knowledge of thin-film deposition techniques (CVD, ALD, PVD).
- Experience with thin-film and surface characterization techniques (XPS, SEM, TEM, etc.).
- Solid fundamentals in chemistry, materials science, and chemical reactions.
- Willingness to learn vacuum systems and plasma processes.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong learning agility and problem-solving skills.
