About This Role
Customer Engineer at Applied Materials is a Tier I unassisted field service role requiring physical labor, diagnostic skills, and direct customer liaison to resolve technical issues in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Performs standard service activities through Tier I unassisted.
- Completes quality repairs and assists senior engineers as needed.
- Verifies operational quality of system equipment unassisted.
- Follows all checklists and procedures to ensure correct Revs of procedures and schematics.
- Assists senior engineers as needed for troubleshooting and escalation calls.
- Diagnoses and resolves recurring technical problems using diagnostic techniques.
Requirements
- Single primary product and platform.
- Minimum aid needed to read circuit diagrams.
- Ability to distinguish between colors and work in tight spaces.
- Physical demands include extensive walking, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders.
- Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (coveralls, hoods, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, etc.).
- Understands how assigned duties relate to others in the team and integrates with discipline.
- Assumes responsibility for full customer satisfaction within work area.
