About the role
We are seeking a seasoned HNW underwriting technical leader to join our team and drive the scaling of our High Net Worth (HNW) underwriting franchise. This pivotal role involves providing hands-on technical leadership, mentoring the team, and contributing to critical cross-functional initiatives that enhance our underwriting model's scalability, governance, and market competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and risk oversight for HNW underwriting, including mentoring underwriters and co-signing cases above individual authorities.
- Underwrite high sum assured and Ultra HNW cases, partnering with reinsurers and distribution teams for commercially competitive outcomes.
- Calibrate, embed, and uphold HNW risk appetite and underwriting standards aligned with Group and local governance frameworks.
- Lead strategic projects focused on building best-in-class HNW underwriting and operating models, including process redesign and system enhancements.
- Drive collaboration across business units to identify capability gaps and streamline end-to-end HNW underwriting effectiveness.
- Design and deliver structured technical training programs for key HNW sales partners.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including reinsurers, distribution, actuarial, claims, and operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in High Net Worth (HNW) underwriting.
- Strong technical leadership capabilities in insurance underwriting.
- Ability to provide day-to-day underwriting guidance and mentorship.
- Experience in calibrating risk appetite and upholding rigorous underwriting standards.
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-sum assured cases.
- Experience working with reinsurers and distribution partners.
