Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate across MUFG entities, including Head Office Legal functions.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute legal services for the APAC region.
- Identify and mitigate process and operational risks in legal service delivery.
- Provide commercially minded legal support with experience in financial services, regulatory, and compliance.
- Draft legal documentation and develop checklists for banking activities.
- Lead initiatives to reduce outside legal counsel spend.
Requirements
- Singapore law qualification or equivalent from other common law jurisdictions (UK, Hong Kong, Australia).
- 8-12 years of post-qualification experience.
- Prior in-house legal experience in a financial institution is an advantage.
- Strong leadership qualities, self-motivation, and good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of finance and banking regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Broad experience across global markets, banking, and lending, including ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, loan-linked derivatives, and interest rate/currency swaps.
