About the role
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer leads the mechanical maintenance team for a gas plant, overseeing preventive and corrective work, budgeting, and safety compliance. The role involves planning maintenance, troubleshooting, developing procedures, and mentoring technicians.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance, liaising with operations, prioritizing jobs, mobilizing workforce, spares and allocating resources.
- Lead technicians in implementing preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Troubleshoot critical plant issues, participate in root cause analysis studies, plant improvement initiatives, and drive cost management.
- Develop and establish maintenance procedures, risk assessments, and method statements; ensure safe execution and maintain risk registers.
- Prepare annual budget for Mechanical department and monitor expenditures.
- Supervise and oversee maintenance technician skill improvement, training, safety programs, and mentor high potentials.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years maintenance experience, including 3 years in maintenance management within power, gas or petrochemical plants.
- Extensive technical and leadership experience in gas and utilities maintenance.
- Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, solve problems and deliver results under tight deadlines.
