About the role
Thales Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to research, prototype, and develop AI solutions, focusing on RAG, Agentic AI, and model fine‑tuning. The role involves building proofs of concept, creating tools for business use cases, and collaborating with a supervisor. Candidates should be Computer Science students with Python and Docker skills and be able to commit full‑time for 5‑6 months.

Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop in areas such as RAG, Agentic AI, and AI managed services – build PoC to showcase and inspire new ideas.
- Develop and refine tools/functions that align with specific business unit use cases.
- Explore and apply fine-tuning techniques to customize models for specific domain tasks, optimising their performance and relevance.
- Collaborate closely with the supervisor, gaining insights into AI's role in real-world business applications.
Requirements
- Education: Computer Science student with a good foundation in Data Science.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Docker Compose, and basic Linux commands. Familiarity with open-source frameworks and tools, including GitHub.
- Traits: Independent and analytical thinker. Open‑minded, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Commitment: Able to commit on a full‑time basis, for ideally 6 months (or a minimum of 5 months).
