About the role

This Manager/AVP level role focuses on managing test environment services and data virtualization platforms within a highly regulated banking environment. The engineer will be responsible for UNIX/Linux infrastructure, database virtualization using Actifio/IBM VDP, and driving automation and standardization initiatives across regional technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and governance for test environment services.
  • Drive standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage risks related to environment availability, capacity, and operational readiness.
  • Serve as an escalation point when major incidents and stakeholder issues arises.
  • Manage refresh schedules and handling environment dependencies.
  • Monitor middleware services, application logs, batch jobs, and message queues.
  • Manage database virtualization, database Clone, database link, and database refresh management.
  • Perform environment change, restart, and validation activities during test cycles.
  • Collaborate with Application Development, Testing, Infrastructure, and Platform teams.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience supporting Data Virtualization Platforms such as Actifio or IBM Virtual Data Pipeline (VDP).
  • Minimum 3 years of UNIX/Linux experience including RHEL, AIX, Solaris, or other Linux distributions.
  • Strong scripting or development experience in one or more of the following: Bash/Shell/Perl/Python/Java/JSON/XML/SOAP.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization data and database management concepts.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting enterprise databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL, or YugabyteDB.
  • Experience working in banking services or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with data access controls, data masking concepts, and audit requirements in banking environments.
  • Exposure to virtualized infrastructure platforms such as Vmware or Huawei.
  • Understanding of middleware interactions across operating systems, applications, and databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder management.
