About the role

Provide 24x7 operational support for enterprise middleware platforms including IBM MQ, Kafka, Tibco EMS, and Solace. Act as the primary incident commander for critical production issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement performance optimizations across global financial services infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 24x7 operational support for middleware platforms including IBM WebSphere MQ, IBM Integration Bus, Apache Kafka, Tibco EMS, and Solace
  • Act as incident commander for Severity 1 and 2 incidents, coordinating with application and infrastructure teams
  • Perform proactive monitoring using Splunk, AppDynamics, Geneos, and Moogsoft to prevent outages
  • Execute change management activities including deployments, patches, and configuration updates
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues
  • Optimize middleware performance through tuning of JVM, connection pools, and message flows
  • Maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations across data centers
  • Create and maintain operational documentation including runbooks and knowledge articles

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise middleware technologies
  • Strong expertise in IBM WebSphere MQ and IBM Integration Bus administration
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Tibco EMS, or Solace messaging platforms
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows server administration
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Geneos, or Moogsoft
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management and network protocols
  • Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts
  • ITIL certification preferred
  • Experience with job scheduling tools like Control-M or Autosys
  • Strong SQL skills for database troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with global teams
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
