About the role
This senior-level Application Support Engineer (AVP/VP) role manages critical manufacturing software systems within a high-volume semiconductor environment. The position leads incident resolution, system performance tuning, and cross-functional CIM integration projects to ensure 24/7 fab operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical support and maintenance for mission-critical Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and CIM platforms
- Manage and resolve complex production-impacting incidents through deep-dive root cause analysis
- Oversee application lifecycle management including software deployments, patching, and system upgrades
- Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for system availability and performance
- Coordinate with software development and automation teams to integrate new functional modules into the production environment
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior support staff in a 24/7 high-availability setting
- Partner with infrastructure teams to optimize application server and database performance
- Liaise with external vendors for specialized technical support and hardware-software interface resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical engineering field
- At least 8 to 12 years of experience in application support within a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven technical expertise in SQL database management and complex query optimization
- Strong functional knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, such as AVP or VP, within a technical support organization
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting for automation
- Practical experience with ITIL service management frameworks and incident/change management processes
- Ability to support high-pressure, 24/7 manufacturing operations and manage on-call escalations
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical business leaders
- Experience with semiconductor-specific protocols such as SECS/GEM is highly preferred
