About the role
The Senior Technician will overhaul, repair, troubleshoot and maintain mtu diesel engines and power generation systems in a high‑utilization workshop environment, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery. The role includes providing technical guidance to junior staff and supporting regional service assignments.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform overhaul, disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of diesel engines and key components such as cylinder heads, water pumps, and turbochargers.
- Execute maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mtu engines and power generation systems in the workshop and on site as needed.
- Diagnose faults in mechanical, fuel (injectors, pumps, governors) and auxiliary systems, applying root‑cause analysis.
- Support engine testing and commissioning activities, including bench‑test troubleshooting.
- Ensure work follows OEM manuals, technical documentation, and quality standards; prepare service and investigation reports.
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- NITEC/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with diesel engines, power generation systems (gensets), heavy equipment or marine engines, including engine overhaul and component repair.
- Proven ability to work on fuel systems (injectors, pumps, governors) and rotating equipment; strong troubleshooting with a structured root‑cause approach.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
