Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, tooling, fixtures, and experimental setups to support welding, joining, and additive manufacturing processes.
- Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for mechanical assemblies, test rigs, and manufacturing equipment.
- Support the design, fabrication, and assembly of prototype systems and hardware modules for research and development projects.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials, manufacturing methods, and fabrication processes for designed components.
- Conduct mechanical analysis and validation of designs, including structural, thermal, or vibration considerations where required.
- Support prototype build, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and experimental platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in mechanical design and engineering fundamentals, including structural mechanics, material behavior, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with mechanical CAD and 3D modelling tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, NX or equivalent) for design and engineering documentation.
- Experience in designing mechanical components, tooling, fixtures, or assemblies for manufacturing or experimental systems.
- Good understanding of manufacturing techniques and fabrication processes, such as CNC machining, metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, or prototyping methods.
- Experience preparing engineering drawings and technical documentation, including basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
